In the late 1850's a Church of God paper was published under the name "The Messenger of Truth" The successor to this paper was "The Hope of Israel", first published August 10, 1863, this was later changed to "Sabbath Advocate" and later to "The Bible Advocate". "The Bible Advocate" is one of the oldest religious magazines in America
